Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Punjab Dhee Rani Programme as part of her government's commitment to supporting underprivileged families in celebrating their daughters' marriages with dignity. The programme provides a Rs. 1 Lakh cash gift, complete dowry items, and organizes grand collective wedding ceremonies across Punjab.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif formally inaugurated the Punjab Dhee Rani Programme at a grand collective marriage event in Kasur. The ceremony brought together hundreds of families and set the tone for district-level rollouts across Punjab. The CM personally attended and distributed ATM cards containing the Rs. 1 Lakh Salami to brides at the event.

The programme has since expanded with scheduled mass wedding ceremonies in multiple districts of Punjab throughout 2025–2026.

Every registered bride receives a dedicated ATM card loaded with Rs. 1,00,000 as a cash Salami (gift) from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. This amount is disbursed directly, ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen. The bride or her family can withdraw funds from any ATM across Pakistan.

In addition to the cash gift, the programme provides a comprehensive dowry package that includes essential household items such as:

Bedroom furniture set

Kitchen appliances

Bedding and linens

Crockery and utensils

The exact package value and contents may vary by district-level event. All items are provided free of charge to registered beneficiaries.

Registered couples participate in a government-organized collective wedding ceremony — a dignified, well-organized event that takes care of the venue, catering, and decorations. This saves families tens of thousands of rupees in wedding expenses. Ceremonies are held at the district level, organized by the Punjab government.

To qualify for the Punjab Dhee Rani Program 2026, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Nationality: Must be a Pakistani citizen and permanent resident of Punjab

Age of Bride: Bride must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application

Age of Groom: Groom must be at least 21 years of age

Income Limit: Family must belong to a low-income or underprivileged background (verified via BISP/NSER data or district authority)

First Marriage: The programme applies to first marriages only (not second marriages)

CNIC: Both bride and groom must possess valid CNICs

Domicile: Must hold a Punjab domicile certificate

Note: Priority is given to orphaned girls, widows' daughters, and families registered in the BISP programme.

Follow these steps to submit your application:

Visit the Official Portal — Go to the official Punjab Government portal or the Dhee Rani Programme website (link provided by the Punjab IT Board)

Register Your Account — Create a new account using your CNIC number and mobile phone number

Fill the Application Form — Enter bride's details, groom's details, family income information, and district preference

Upload Documents — Scan and upload all required documents in JPEG/PDF format

Submit Application — Review all information and click "Submit"

Save Your Application ID — You will receive a unique Application ID via SMS — keep it for status tracking

Await Verification — District authorities will verify your documents and eligibility

Receive Confirmation SMS — If approved, you will receive an SMS with ceremony date and venue details

Tip: Applications can also be submitted in-person at your District Social Welfare Office if you face difficulties with the online portal.
